Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals in Hampton are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle pickup. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Rental Requirements at Hampton
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Hampton, you must be at least 21 years old, although some vehicle types may have different age restrictions, with extra fees applicable for drivers under 25. A valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle category is required, held for the duration stated in the Rental Agreement. You will also need to present valid identification and proof of your current address. Valid payment information and a security deposit are necessary. Additional requirements may apply as outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Reservations and Payments
- You can make reservations via our website, by phone, or at our Hampton office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are usually required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment processors.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collecting your vehicle, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage right away. A vehicle condition report will be completed and must be signed by both parties. Please return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as when received; refueling fees will apply for any discrepancies. If you anticipate returning the vehicle late, please contact us without delay, as late returns may incur extra charges. You will also be held responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or related charges accumulated during your rental period, along with an administrative fee.
5. Insurance and Responsibility
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Detailed coverage information and excess amounts can be found in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to minimize your financial responsibility. It is advisable to examine these options thoroughly. You will be liable for damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless additional insurance is secured. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violations of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. For precise details, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of the Vehicle
- The vehicle may not be used for any unlawful activities. This includes racing, off-roading, or other dangerous pursuits. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Users must adhere to passenger and weight limits and remain within the designated geographical areas unless prior approval is obtained.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Hampton is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the amount you paid for the rental in the prior 12 months. This limitation does not affect our liability for death or personal injury due to negligence, or for fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
10. Terms Updates
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect as soon as they are posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
