Rental Terms

All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement that you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance provisions, charges, and your obligations related to the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

Eligibility Criteria

Renting a vehicle with us requires:

• To hire a vehicle from Car Hire in Hampton, drivers must be at least 21 years old. Age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type, with extra fees applicable for those under 25. A valid driving licence suitable for the chosen vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of current address. Additionally, valid payment details and a security deposit must be provided. Ensure compliance with any further conditions outlined in the Rental Agreement.

Booking and Payments

• Reservations can be arranged via our website, by phone, or directly at our Dartford location. A deposit may be needed to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.

Vehicle Pick-Up and Drop-Off

• At the time of vehicle collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed to document the state of the car. When returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated, and charges may be applied as necessary. Ensure the fuel level matches that of the collection; otherwise, refueling fees will apply. If you foresee a late return, please notify us promptly, as additional charges may be incurred. You will be accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, along with an administration fee.

Insurance and Liability Policies

• All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Detailed coverage information and excess amounts are outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to help lower your financial liability. It is advisable to examine these options thoroughly. You remain liable for damages or loss up to the insurance excess, except when supplementary insurance is purchased. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violations of these Terms will be your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.

6. Modifications and Cancellations

Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period given. For precise information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.

7. Restricted Activities

Prohibited uses of the vehicle:

• The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or any dangerous driving practices. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized individuals to drive it is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purposes and must not exceed passenger or weight limits. Driving outside the specified geographical boundaries requires prior approval.

Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.

8. Liability Restrictions

To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire Hampton is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount paid in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.

9. Applicable Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.

10. Updates to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting on our website. Your ongoing use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
